# Request price monitoring setup

> Ask the Retailgrid team to set up competitor price monitoring for your account from Settings, and track the status of your request.

Competitor price monitoring - which competitors to watch, in which markets, how your catalog maps to the scan, and how often it refreshes - is set up for you by the Retailgrid team. Rather than configure it per grid, you describe what you want monitored from **Settings**, and we handle the setup and matching.

Open **Settings** in the left sidebar, then **Price monitoring**.

## Submit a request

Fill in one request describing what you want watched:

* **Catalog coverage** - which products or categories the monitoring should cover.
* **Markets and currencies** - the markets you want prices from, and the currencies they are in.
* **Competitors and your own store** - the competitors to track, and your own online store so your prices can be compared against theirs.
* **Update frequency** - how often the scan should refresh.
* **Notes** - anything else that matters for your setup, in free text.

Submit it and the request reaches the Retailgrid team with everything needed to configure monitoring and matching for you.

## Track your request

After you submit, the page shows the request you sent and where its setup stands, so you can see what was asked for and follow progress. If monitoring is already running and something needs to change, submit a change request from the same place - it keeps what you asked for before.

## Where the data shows up

Once monitoring is live, the competitor prices it produces flow into the rest of the app: validate each scan on [Competitor matching](https://docs.retailgrid.io/price-monitoring/competitor-matching.md), act on individual matches in [Review and approve competitor matches](https://docs.retailgrid.io/price-monitoring/review-matches.md), and read your position on the [Competitive Position dashboard](https://docs.retailgrid.io/dashboards/competitive-position.md).
